Their relationship has worn a little thin over twenty years; Hanna and Simon seem to live more in the past than in their belief in a shared future. When they fall in love with the same man, the trio finds a surprising solution.

Hanna works as an arts presenter in television. When she attends a meeting of the Ethics Council, she meets stem cell researcher Adam Born. That evening, she runs into him again by chance at the theatre. At the same time, her husband Simon learns that he has testicular cancer. While Hanna and Adam grow closer and eventually spend a night together in the researcher’s apartment, Simon successfully undergoes the necessary surgery. A few weeks later, he meets Adam at a swimming pool – and the two men have a surprising encounter. Unsuspecting, Hanna and Simon continue their affairs with Adam – until the couple unexpectedly find themselves face to face in Adam’s apartment.
