Dark Blue Girl
DARK BLUE GIRL is the striking feature debut of Berlin director Mascha Schilinski. Jimmy and Hannah reunite after a two-year separation to sell their shared holiday home on a small volcanic island in the Aegean. Unexpectedly, old feelings resurface and they decide to give their relationship a second chance. But their seven-year-old daughter Luca has other plans. „To preserve her identity – the queen at her father’s side – and remain the central link within the family, she becomes a master of manipulation.” (Mascha Schilinski)
Against the backdrop of the island idyll, the holiday home becomes a quiet battlefield, revealing how early manipulation can take root – and the emotional damage it can inflict.
